Objective:  enhancing the quality of the health care services infrastructure and balancing their territorial and regional allocation within the country in order to ensure equal access of the citizens to health services.

Categories of eligible beneficiaries:
- Local public administration authorities in the urban and rural area - municipalities, cities, communes
- Partnerships or intra-community development associations between the authorities of local public administration.

Eligible activities within the project:
- Modernization of the hospitals and ambulatory rooms;
- Modernization of the general and specific hospital utilities / ambulatory rooms;
- Setting up and modernizing access facilities for persons with physical disabilities in hospitals / ambulatory rooms;
- Purchase of equipment for hospitals / ambulatory rooms.

Approximate financial allocation for this Area of Intervention of the Bucharest-Ilfov Region is of 15, 38 million Euros.

The open project application for the 3.1 key area of intervention was launched on January, 22nd 2008.
