BURSA Conference: “European financing – opportunity for economic recovery

Over 150 persons – companies in all fields of activity, consultants, lawyers, banks representatives, guaranteeing funds etc. – participated at the European Financing Conference – Opportunity for Economic Recovery, organized by the BURSA Media Group. The representatives of the authorities – the minister of Finance, Gheorghe Ialomi?ianu, and the minister of Agriculture, Valeriu Tab?r?, sent an optimistic message, declaring that there are ambitious targets for the absorption of European funds (90% in 2015), following the implementation of certain measures to accelerate the spending of Community funds.

The minister Ialomi?ianu declared that, at present, the payments to the beneficiaries of European projects amount only 11.9% of the total amount allocated to our country in the 2007 - 2013 period. He requested the banks to be involved more in co-financing, so that a higher number of projects would be approved for financing. Also, the minister of Finance announced that next year the Government shall allocated 22 billion Lei of the state budget to co-finance the projects from European funds, with 60% more than this year, when the total allocated amount shall reach the value of 13.5 billion Lei.

In turn, the minister of Agriculture, Valeriu Tab?r?, declared the help of the banking institutions, with whom partnerships were concluded, is supported, in order to increase the level of absorption of European funds in the agricultural sector.

C?lin Istr??oiu, director within the Ministry of Economy, presented to the audience the up to date value of the absorption of European funds through the Sector Operational Program - Developing the Economic Competitiveness, also stating that it is about to accelerate attracting European financing.
